Manage Coupons, Gift Certificates, and Membership

Step-by-step Instructions

1) Coupons

Creating a coupon

  • Go to the coupon creation menu.
  • Set the following parameters:
    • Coupon code: code the user must enter.
    • Discount type: percentage (applied to the full invoice) or fixed amount (applied to one registration only).
    • Expiration date.
    • Number of uses: a coupon can be used multiple times across different transactions.
  • Application:
    • Check if applicable to all sessions, or select specific sessions.
    • Check gift certificate if relevant.
    • Check one purchase unit per transaction if necessary.

2) Gift Certificates

Setup steps

  1. Create a fixed-amount coupon.
  2. Check the options: Transferable, Limit to one item, and Applicable after tax.
  3. Create a specific course for the gift certificate.
  4. Link the coupon to the course.
  5. Choose a clear title.
  6. Create a session linked to this course.
  7. Set the price to match the gift certificate value.
  8. Link the course and the coupon to the session.

3) Coupon included in a purchase

  • Create a coupon like a gift certificate (single use).
  • In the relevant course, check the option to include the coupon.
  • Enable the Quick Checkout option in the session.
  • The coupon code will be automatically sent in the purchase confirmation email.

4) Membership

Creating a membership

  1. Create a course of type Membership.
  2. Link the coupons to be offered with the membership.
  3. Set a title, media, and billing category.
  4. Create a session for this course.
  5. Set the membership price.
  6. Define the validity period in days (e.g., 365 days for one year).

Individual membership

  • When creating the course, check Individual membership.
  • Differences:
    • The membership is linked only to the user.
    • Partner prices do not apply.
    • The membership expiration date is visible in the user profile.

5) Specific configuration cases

  • $10 public coupon valid on all sessions: unlimited uses, but only once per transaction.
  • $10 public coupon valid only on certain courses.
  • Automatic coupon sent when a member subscribes (valid on all sessions or specific sessions).
  • $10 member coupon not sent automatically (used for manual offers to existing members).
  • Same as above but limited to a specific course.

6) Coupon management

Viewing coupons

  • Go to the Users menu.
  • Click the Coupons button next to the desired user.
  • The user’s active coupons will be displayed. A button allows you to delete them if necessary.

Coupon automatically applied to a session

Tips / FAQs

  • For gift certificates, make sure the course price matches the coupon value.
  • Use filtering options to restrict coupon use to specific sessions or courses.
  • Track coupon usage for your financial reporting.
