Session Selection | Viva Helix

Session Selection

Summary

This guide explains how to configure session selection using a master session (visible in the catalog) and child sessions (private), then create and publish the selection for participant purchase.

Step-by-step Instructions

1) Create a master session

  • The master session is the only session that appears in the catalog.
  • Child sessions will be linked to this master session to enable selection.
  • Important: The master session must have no enrollments.

2) Create the child sessions

  • Set each child session to private.
  • The master session and child sessions must have the same price to ensure proper billing.

You can:

  • Duplicate the master session and adjust schedules to create child sessions,
  • or create different courses as child sessions.

3) Open the selection menu

Open the selection management menu in the platform to configure session selection.

4) Create your selection

  • Select the master session.
  • Check only the child sessions (do not check the master session).

Additional information

If a child session has reached its maximum capacity, this is indicated next to the session and it cannot be purchased.

Tips / FAQs

  • Before publishing, ensure the master session has no enrollments and that all prices match.
  • To streamline setup, duplicate the master session and only adjust the schedule for child sessions.
  • Keep child sessions private so purchases are controlled exclusively via the selection flow.
