Titles, Master Activities, and Cost Categories

Summary

This guide explains how a Registrar or Admin manages Titles (e.g., positions, functions), Master Activities (global tracking of courses/sessions), and Cost Categories in Viva Helix. These settings organize data, billing, and training activity tracking.

Step-by-step Instructions

1) Manage Titles

  1. Open Configuration > Titles.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Enter:
    • Title name (e.g., Instructor, Coordinator, Participant).
    • Status: active/inactive.
  4. Save. Active titles will be available for assignment to users.
  5. To edit or deactivate a title, open the row and update the information.

2) Manage Master Activities

  1. Open Configuration > Master Activities.
  2. Click Create New.
  3. Fill in:
    • Name (identifies the grouping of activities, e.g., Health and Safety Program).
    • Code (optional, useful for reports).
    • Description (summary of purpose or content).
  4. Save. The master activity can be linked to multiple courses/sessions for overall tracking.
  5. To view associated sessions, open the master activity record.

  3. Enter:

Tips
