PayPal Connection

Summary

This guide explains how to generate API keys to enable PayPal in high security mode. These keys must be provided to your platform administrator for secure integration.

Information to provide to the administrator

  • Admin email of your merchant account
  • API Client ID
  • API Secret Key

Step-by-step Instructions

1) Access the developer dashboard

  • From the PayPal home page, click Developer.
  • Then click Developer Dashboard.

2) Switch to Live mode

  • In the developer dashboard, click Live.

3) Create an application

  • Click Create App.
  • Fill in the first three fields:
    1. Name: viva
    2. Type: Merchant
    3. Email: your PayPal admin email
  • Click Create App to confirm.

4) Retrieve API keys

  • Your Client ID and Secret Key are now generated.
  • Click View Secret Key to display it.

5) Return to the business dashboard

  • Click Business Dashboard to go back to the PayPal home page.

Tips / FAQs

  • Store your API keys securely and only share them with authorized personnel.
  • Ensure you are in Live mode to generate production keys, not sandbox keys.
  • If you regenerate a key, inform your administrator immediately to update the integration.
